AIR CONDITIONING A BASEMENT APARTMENT IN PRIMROSE HILL, A CONSERVATION AREA, WITH FULLY INTERNAL AIR CONDITIONING
This two bedroom garden apartment is part of a four-storey mid-nineteenth-century terrace house situated in the Elsworthy Conservation Area, close to Primrose Hill.
The owners wished to have air conditioning, but due to planning restrictions, they were not allowed to fit a traditional external condenser box. Also, they were not allowed to drill any holes in the external walls of the building.
The best solution available to air condition this apartment was our energy efficient DC inverter water-cooled internal condenser air conditioning system that allows everything to be retained within the apartment.
For this installation, two water-cooled condensers were installed in the en-suite bathroom for the master bedroom. These serviced two energy efficient, quiet, DC inverter high wall units in the master bedroom and second bedroom.
Our technical team were able to connect the refrigerant pipework between the condensers and the room units using the ceiling void. There was minimal disruption to the existing decor and all pipework was concealed.
No planning permission was required to fit our air conditioning systems in these apartments.
For this project we installed:
2 x 3.5kw (12,000 Btu) water-cooled DC Inverter condensers
These served:
Master Bedroom 1 x 3.5kw (12,000 Btu) DC Inverter cooling high wall unit
Second Bedroom 1 x 3.5kw (12,000 Btu) DC Inverter cooling high wall unit
