INSTALLING APARTMENT AIR CONDITIONING IN A LISTED BUILDING ON THE GLOUCESTER ROAD IN KENSINGTON
This apartment is within a prominent period building located on the corner of Stanhope Gardens and Gloucester Road, two quite busy and noisy roads. Also, The property benefits from a double-aspect reception room; whilst being very impressive, it also gets quite warm.
The owner wished to install air conditioning, but the owners were not allowed to fit a traditional external condenser box in the Queensgate Conservation Area (an area of special architectural and historical interest). Nor were they allowed to drill any holes in the external walls of the building.
The client wished to air condition two bedrooms. The best solution available was our internal condenser air conditioning system. This type of air conditioning allows everything to be retained within the apartment.
As part of the installation, two water-cooled internal condensers were installed in the kitchen. Quiet and energy-efficient DC inverter high wall units were fitted in both bedrooms.
Our engineers connected the refrigerant pipework between the condenser and the room units with minimal disruption. The pipework was boxed in to match the decoration.
No planning permission was required to fit our air conditioning systems in this apartment.
For this project, we installed:
2 x 3.5kw DC Inverter water cooled condensers
Master bedroom
1 x 3.5kw (12,000btu) DC Inverter high wall unit
Bedroom Two
1 x 3.5kw (12,000btu) DC Inverter high wall unit
