This case study showcases our successful installation of fully internal air con in the Milles Square apartments in Brixton. Our client owns a brand-new south-facing duplex apartment in the Brixton Square development, which features 155 modern flats along Brixton’s Coldharbour Lane.
With its sunny orientation and expansive glass surfaces, the apartment baked in heat. Fundamentally, building regulations prohibited traditional external condenser boxes and any drilling into the external walls, so we needed a smart solution for the Milles Square Apartments’ internal air con.
Internal Air Con in Milles Square Apartments: Combating Excessive Solar Gain
We designed an internal condenser air conditioning system that perfectly fit the apartment’s constraints. Our system contains all components within the apartment, making it the ideal choice for Milles Square Apartments. We installed two water-cooled internal condensers in a convenient storage room beside the boiler room. In addition, we mounted whisper-quiet DC inverter high-wall units in the main bedroom and the lower living/bedroom area.
Therefore, our skilled engineers expertly connected the refrigerant pipework between the fully internal water-cooled condensers and the room units. This caused minimal disruption to the existing decor while also ensuring a seamless installation process within Milles Square Apartments. Ultimately, the project took just one day!

2 x 3.5 kW DC inverter water-cooled condensers
1 x near-silent cooling wall-mounted unit in the main bedroom
1 x near-silent cooling wall-mounted unit in the lower living/bedroom area
