THE INSTALLATION OF COMPLETELY INTERNAL CONDENSERS TO AIR CONDITION AN APARTMENT IN FOUNTAIN COURT WITHIN A WINDSOR CONSERVATION AREA

The apartment within the modern Fountain Court apartment building is situated in the Inner Windsor Conservation Area within the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.

Like many modern apartments, it is well insulated and gets very warm. The owners wanted air conditioning, but due to planning restrictions, they were not allowed to fit a traditional external condenser box or drill any holes in the external walls of the building.

The best solution available to air condition this apartment, was our energy efficient DC inverter water cooled internal condenser air conditioning system that allows everything to be retained within the property.

For this installation, three water cooled condensers were installed in the boiler room, two in a suspended custom-made cradle system and one at floor level, to supply an energy efficient, quiet, DC inverter high wall units in two bedrooms and living room area.

Our technical team were able to connect the refrigerant pipework between the condensers and the room units using the apartment’s ceiling void, enabling all the pipework to be concealed. Throughout the installation, there was minimal disruption to the existing decoration.

No planning permission was required to fit our air conditioning systems in this apartment.

For this project we installed:
2 x 3.5kw water-cooled DC Inverter condensers
1 x 5.3kw water-cooled DC Inverter condenser

This served:
1 x 3.5kw (12,000 Btu) DC Inverter cooling high wall unit in the master bedroom
1 x 3.5kw (12,000 Btu) DC Inverter cooling high wall unit in the second bedroom
1 x 5.3kw (18,000 Btu) DC Inverter cooling high wall unit in the living room area
