A CASE STUDY FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A DUAL DC INVERTER WATER COOLED CONDENSER TO AIR CONDITION AN APARTMENT IN A CONSERVATION AREA
St Loo Court, a highly regarded mansion block building is situated in the heart of the Cheyne Conservation area that has one of the longest histories of buildings of any area in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
The owner approached us specifically because of our expertise in air conditioning apartments within conservation areas. We worked closely with the client to find a solution to air condition the master bedroom and guest bedroom, both of which were hot, preventing the owner from having a good nights sleep. Being within a very sensitive and historically significant conservation area, planning restrictions prevented the use of a standard air conditioning system with an external condenser box.
The only solution available to air condition this apartment was using our A** rated energy efficient DC inverter water cooled internal condensers that allow everything to be retained within the property.
For this installation, a dual-split water cooled internal condenser was installed in the utility cupboard (that house the boiler and washing machine). This served energy efficient quiet DC inverter high wall units in the master and guest bedrooms.
Our technical team were able to connect and hide the refrigerant pipework between the condenser and the room units using the ceiling void and partition walls. There was minimal disruption to the existing decor within the apartment.
No planning permission was required to fit our air conditioning system.
For this project we installed:
- One 5.3kw Dual Split DC Inverter Water Cooled Condenser
- Master Bedroom: 2.6kw (9,000 Btu) DC Inverter Cooling High Wall Unit
- Guest Bedroom: 2.6kw (9,000 Btu) DC Inverter Cooling High Wall Unit
