HOW WE INSTALLED INTERNAL WATER COOLED SYSTEMS TO AIR CONDITION APARTMENTS IN CUMBERLAND TERRACE, REGENTS PARK, AN ICONIC LONDON TERRACE
We have recently completed the installation of two fully internal air conditioning systems within Cumberland Terrace, a Crown Estate Grade II Listed terrace near Regents Park in Central London.
In both cases, the owners were desperate to have air conditioning in their master bedrooms, but the apartments were subject to very strict planning restrictions and no form of an external condenser or the drilling of external holes was allowed. We were approached specifically because of our expertise in air conditioning apartments within listed buildings.
After discussions with the clients, the only air conditioning solution available to them was our A** rated energy efficient DC inverter water cooled internal condensers that allow everything to be retained within the property.
Both projects were carried out whilst the apartments were being refurbished, which allowed all the refrigerant pipework between the condensers and the room units to be fully concealed. No planning permission was required to fit our air conditioning systems in these apartments.
Project One
The internal condenser was located within a utility cupboard in the hall, close to the incoming services. The refrigerant pipework was routed through the en-suite bathroom and connected to a quiet DC inverter high wall room unit in the master bedroom.
For this project we installed:
Master Bedroom 1 x 3.5kw (12,000btu) water-cooled DC Inverter condenser
to serve: 1 x 3.5kw (12,000btu) DC Inverter high wall unit
Project Two
The internal condenser was housed within an airing cupboard adjacent to the master bedroom and close to the incoming services. The quiet DC inverter concealed ducted room unit was located high up in a fitted wardrobe. Using custom designed joinery the whole system was completely hidden except for a discrete bespoke grille.
For this project we installed:
Master Bedroom 1 x 3.5kw (12,000 Btu) water-cooled DC Inverter condenser
to serve:
1 x 3.5kw (12,000 Btu) DC Inverter concealed ducted room unit
