Air Con in Ivory House, St Katharine Docks
Cool You have completed the first phase of an air conditioning installation within an apartment in this Grade 2 listed building overlooking St Katharine Docks, Tower Hamlets in London.
Ivory House was built in 1858 and is the only original warehouse still standing in St Katharine Docks today.
As a listed building, the apartment owners were restricted with what they could do when considering retrofitting air conditioning. There was no place for a conventional outside condenser unit, and they were also unable to gain planning permission to drill vent holes to fit our through-the-wall air conditioning units.
The owners contacted Cool You, and we recommended our wall-mounted air conditioning system that required no external work. We were connected to the apartment’s services, utilising the dressing room adjacent to the master bedroom. Cool You have undertaken many projects in listed buildings where more conventional air conditioning systems were impossible to install due to planning restrictions.
For this project, we installed:
Master Bedroom: 1 x 3.5kw (13000btu) DC Inverter Water Cooled Internal Condenser
1 x High Wall Air Conditioning Unit
