Commercial Air Conditioning Case Study for Offices in Islington, London
A water-cooled air conditioning installation without an outside condenser box.
Our client expanded his photo library business and relocated to offices within a listed building on Domingo Street in Islington. He approached Cool You during the early stages of the planning process to completely refurbish his newly acquired building.
Upon assessment, it became clear that a traditional air conditioning system was not feasible due to time and planning restrictions (planners did not permit an external condenser box). We collaborated closely with the client and his architects to determine the best specifications for the air conditioning system. This involved installing two 7kw and one 3.8kw Water-Cooled air conditioning system with high-wall room units in three rooms.
By being part of the project from its early stages, the Cool You technical team could work in tandem with the client’s contractors. This allowed for the installation of the water-cooled air conditioning system’s pipework and relevant electrical wiring during the initial and secondary stages of the refurbishment. As a result, the water condensing units were strategically located for future servicing/maintenance, with all pipework concealed within the walls.
Despite the building being a work in progress, we fully installed the air conditioning system and sealed the wall units in anticipation of completion. Our technical team then returned to rigorously test and commission the system, ensuring it was fully operational. We also provided the client and his team a comprehensive run-through of the operating procedures.
