Air Conditioning A Flat In Woods House, Grosvenor Waterside, Using A Water Cooled  Internal AC System

This case study explores implementing an air conditioning system in a flat in Woods House, Grosvenor Waterside. Positioned alongside the River Thames, on the northern side of Chelsea Bridge, the apartment faces challenges, particularly high summer temperatures. Adding efficient air conditioning to the flat, especially given the nearby noisy railway line, provides relief from these challenges. Our client stated, ”Summertime is not easy if you live in Woods House in southwest London. When the sun rises, so does the temperature in the building!”

Contemporary apartment buildings like Woods House often experience elevated heat levels. Consequently, the owner of this flat encountered a common issue: the inability to install a traditional external condenser, which is crucial in air conditioning systems for flats. This was due to restrictions against drilling into the building’s external walls. Therefore, the Cool You exclusive water-cooled air conditioning system emerged as the ideal solution. It allowed all components to remain within the apartment.

Our well-drilled engineering team installed this project in one day!

Our engineering team efficiently installed the water condensers within the utility cupboard of the apartment’s hallway. To facilitate air conditioning in Woods House, they ran the necessary pipework through the wall. These were connected to two high wall units, each with a capacity of 3.8 kW (approximately 13000 BTU). One unit was placed in the primary bedroom. Meanwhile, the other was installed in the living room/kitchen area. Moreover, our skilled joiners discreetly boxed in the pipework to ensure a neat finish. Remarkably, the installation was completed within a single day, minimising disruption to the owner’s daily activities.

Furthermore, an additional benefit of this installation was that no planning permission was required for fitting the water-cooled air conditioning system, which is ideal for flats like those in Woods House. This aspect offered a seamless and efficient solution to the apartment’s cooling needs.

    For this project, we installed:
    2 x Water Condenser Units
    2 x 3.8f kW (13000btu) water-cooled high wall split systems
