Air conditioning installation as part of a complete building refurbishment

Cool You recently completed a successful air conditioning installation during the refurbishment of three duplex apartments in Kensington and Chelsea. This project was a significant achievement for our team.

61 Harrington Gardens is located in the Courtfield Conservation Area. Its historical significance and strict planning laws made standard air conditioning systems unfeasible. This was due to restrictions on external condenser boxes.

Cool You was chosen by the developer for this project because of our expertise in providing air conditioning solutions for listed buildings and conservation areas. Our strong track record gave the client confidence in our capabilities.

A highly skilled engineering team devised a tailor-made solution.

Cool You’s skilled engineering team created a customised solution. The team collaborated closely with the client’s architects and contractors to deliver a robust plan. This included a combination of air-cooled mono and multi-split internal condensers, and a conventional external condenser. They also included an efficient heat recovery system. We integrated these components with ducted (hidden) room units that utilise advanced DC inverter technology. This ensured a fully concealed installation.

We carefully planned the positioning of the internal condensing units in the lower ground vault and loft spaces for a streamlined installation. The ducted fan coil units were placed in ceiling voids, highlighting our attention to detail and commitment to quality.

In phase one, we routed all refrigerant pipework, which the contractors enclosed. Our adaptable team synced the installation with the contractor’s schedule. This was done for a smooth workflow.

In the second phase, we installed ducting from the air-cooled internal condensers to the external wall, complying with the main contractor’s specifications.

Notably, this project progressed without needing planning permission, enhancing its efficiency.

Apartment One
2 x 5.3kw Air-Cooled Mono-Split Internal Condensers for the main and second bedrooms with 2 x 5.3kw Ducted Units. 1 x 5.3kw Air-Cooled Dual-Split Internal Condenser for the third bedroom and media room with 2 x 2.6kw Ducted Units. 1 x Ventaxia Heat Recovery System for the media room.

Apartment Two
1 x 7kw Air-Cooled Dual-Split Internal Condenser for the main and second bedrooms. It includes 1 x 5.3kw and 2.6kw Ducted Units.

Apartment Three
1 x Mitsubishi 14kw mini VRF Condenser on the terrace. – 1 x 7kw Ducted Room Unit, 1 x 3.6kw Ducted Room Unit, and 2 x 2.8kw Ducted Room Units
