Installing Air Conditioning at Bridge House
Cool You UK have recently installed air conditioning in several apartments at Bridge House, a contemporary riverside development at St. George Wharf next to Vauxhall Bridge in Central London.
As with many contemporary apartment buildings, extensive glazing has been used to take full advantage of the superb river views. The views of the Thames are fantastic. Still, the large glass area also generates a lot of heat in this apartment.
To manage the temperature, the owners wished to fit air conditioning. The design of the building would not allow them to fit a traditional external condenser box, nor were the drilling of holes in the outer walls of the building for a through-the-wall system.
The only way to efficiently air condition this apartment was our revolutionary water-cooled air conditioning system that allows everything to be retained within the apartment, using the cold water supply and wastewater pipework.
The water condenser was installed within the apartment’s hall utility cupboard (this was boxed in – the picture shows the condensing unit before it was boxed in) and plumbed into the water system. A 3.8kw water-cooled high wall unit was fitted in the bedroom.
The pipework was neatly boxed in by our joiner – who also made some shelves for the customer (all in a day’s work for Cool You). We could set the high wall unit out to allow for the door frame and low ceiling.
No planning permission was required to fit our water-cooled air conditioning system in this apartment.
For this project we installed:
1 x Water Condenser Unit
1 x 3.8kw Water Cooled High Wall Unit
