RETRO-FITTING OF AIR CONDITIONING IN FLATS IN EDMUNDS HOUSE, A NEW BUILD APARTMENT BUILDING IN CHISWICK
This recently completed apartment in the Edmunds House development is situated between Gunnersbury Triangle Natural Reserve and the Chiswick Point business park. Like many modern apartments, this building combines a substantial glass area and very efficient insulation, so gets very warm.
The owners wanted air conditioning in two bedrooms and the open plan kitchen area. Still, they were not allowed to fit a traditional external condenser box or drill any external holes due to restrictions.
The only solution available to air condition this apartment was our energy-efficient DC inverter water cooled internal condenser air conditioning system that allows everything to be retained within their apartment.
For this installation, three water-cooled condensers were installed in the utility room. These service energy efficient, quiet, DC Inverter high wall units in the open plan kitchen/living room area and the master and second bedroom.
Our technical team connected the refrigerant pipework between the condensers and the room units through an adjacent wall to the kitchen and the ceiling void for the bedrooms, enabling all the pipework to be concealed. Throughout the installation, there was minimal disruption to the existing decoration.
No planning permission was required to fit our air conditioning system in this apartment.
For this project we installed:
3 x 3.5kw DC Inverter water cooled condensers
These service:
Kitchen / Living Room
1 x 3.5kw (12,000 Btu) DC Inverter cooling high wall unit
Master Bedroom
1 x 3.5kw (12,000 Btu) DC Inverter cooling high wall unit
Second Bedroom
1 x 3.5kw (12,000 Btu) DC Inverter cooling high wall unit
