5 Myths about Fully Internal Air Conditioning Systems

Can you believe the hot weather?!

The sunshine might have you considering a fully internal air conditioning solution for your London flat, apartment or listed building, but it’s easy to be afraid to go ahead and install a system when there are many, many air conditioning myths out there.

In today’s post, our Managing Director Savva busts some of those internal air conditioning myths and sets the record straight so all your concerns can be put to rest.

You can watch Savva in the video below:

Myth #1: Air Conditioning Makes You Sick

There is absolutely no reason to worry about air conditioning making you sick. A Cool You fully internal system benefits your health as it purifies the air through filters. Air conditioning also dehumidifies the air, which helps prevent mould spores from building up within your apartment, making your environment healthier, too.

Myth #2: Where You Put Your Air Conditioning System Doesn’t Matter

This is just not true. For your air conditioning to work efficiently, the unit’s position matters. It’s very important that airflow is not restricted and air distribution is fully satisfied, so we work with you to find the best spot, so you get maximum cooling.

Myth #3: Blasting Your Air Conditioning When You Need It Is Better Than Letting It Run On Slow All Day

If you know we will have some hot weather, it’s best to run the air conditioning low and slow.

When you’re out during the day, set your air conditioning to a slightly higher temperature than you normally would, such as 23-25 degrees. That way, the natural temperature of the room will stay cool, and when you get home, you just need to turn it down a few degrees to ensure a lovely cool and controlled apartment.

Myth #4: Air Conditioning Maintenance is a Waste of Time

To run an efficient air conditioning system, it’s best to have your system maintained at least once a year and to have a maintenance programme.

It’s much easier to be preventative and do yearly checks than deal with the cost and hassle if the system breaks down. Also, to uphold a manufacturer warranty, you will likely need a maintenance strategy.

A Cool You system comes with a five-year combined parts and labour warranty, as well as a yearly service programme.

Myth #5: Bigger Units Provide Better Performance

Once again, this just isn’t true.

Although there might not be a huge price difference between sizes, there are several factors to consider before purchasing a system.

During the site survey, we’ll size your system perfectly to your space, so it looks and works its best. We consider several factors, such as the size of the space, occupancy level, where the unit will be positioned and where it will be most comfortable, so you don’t get any drafts. Don’t worry we have all bases covered!

So there you have a few internal air conditioning myths that we’ve debunked.  If you have any further questions or would like to find out anything else, don’t hesitate to give us a call on 0207 043 2275 or email enquiries@coolyoudirect.co.uk.
