Can you believe the hot weather?! The sunshine might have you considering a fully internal air conditioning solution for your London flat, apartment or listed building. But it’s easy to be afraid to go ahead and install a system when there are many, many internal air conditioning myths out there.
In today’s post, our Managing Director Savva busts some of those internal air conditioning myths and sets the record straight so all your concerns can be put to rest.
You can watch Savva in the video below:
Myth #1: Air Conditioning Makes You Sick
There is no reason to worry about air conditioning making you sick. A Cool You fully internal system benefits your health by purifying the air through filters. Air conditioning also dehumidifies the air. This helps prevent mould spores from building up within your apartment, making your environment healthier.
Myth #2: Where You Put Your Air Conditioning System Doesn’t Matter
This is just not true. For your air conditioning to work efficiently, the unit’s position matters. It’s very important that airflow is not restricted and air distribution is unrestricted. We will work with you to find the best spot so you get maximum cooling.
Myth #3: Blasting Your Air Conditioning When You Need It Is Better Than Letting It Run On Slow All Day
If you know we will have some hot weather, it’s best to run the air conditioning low and slow.
When you’re out during the day, set your air conditioning slightly higher than usual. About 23-25 degrees. That way, the natural temperature of the room will stay cool. When you get home, you just need to turn it down a few degrees. This will ensure a lovely cool and controlled apartment.
Myth #4: Air Conditioning Maintenance is a Waste of Time
To run an efficient air conditioning system, it’s best to maintain your system at least once a year. We recommend that you have a maintenance programme.
It’s much easier to be preventative. It is better to perform yearly checks than to deal with the cost and hassle if the system breaks down. Also, you will likely need a maintenance strategy to uphold a manufacturer’s warranty.
A Cool You system comes with a five-year combined parts and labour warranty, as well as a yearly service programme.
Myth #5: Bigger Units Provide Better Performance
Once again, this just isn’t true.
Although there might not be a considerable price difference between sizes, several factors should be considered before purchasing a system.
During the site survey, we’ll size your system perfectly to your space so it looks and works its best. We consider several factors. These include the size of the space and occupancy level. Also, where will the unit be positioned, and where will it be most comfortable so you don’t get any drafts? Don’t worry. We have all bases covered!
