The Best Way To Run an Internal Air Conditioning System

Today our managing director, Savva, is sharing the best way to run an internal air conditioning system.

Many customers think the best way to run an internal air conditioning system is to blast it at a low temperature (usually around the low to mid-teens) only when it’s hot outside. While this works to cool down your London apartment on a hot day, it is not the best way to run an internal air conditioning system, especially a Cool You unit.

This is the Best Way To Run an Internal Air Conditioning System:

We advise setting your unit to somewhere between 22-24°C. While this may seem high for an air conditioner, it’s the most comfortable and efficient temperature for your unit.

The temperature on the remote is called a set-point. This means that this is the temperature you want the room to become, not the temperature of the air blowing out of the unit. For example, if the remote is set at 23°C, your system will stop running only when the room is 23°C.

So if you crank your AC down to a lower temperature, all that means is that your unit will have to work extra hard. And by the time the room reaches these low temps, it will be far too cold anyway.

Running your air conditioner at a slightly higher temperature prevents the dreaded chill that many associate with air conditioners. You won’t feel cold in your apartment, and it will actually make your system work more efficiently, as well as save energy.

For an average-sized bedroom or smaller living room, we recommend setting your Cool You system to 21-23°C with low to medium fan speed, as that’s the most efficient and comfortable setting for rooms of that size.
